The major of Human Environment and Design teaches creative design based on a design philosophy to enhance the quality of life.
The College of Human Ecology was established in 1963 as the first 4-year College of Home Economics in Korea. It began with 3 departments: Clothing and Textiles, Foods and Nutrition, and Housing and Interior Design. The Departments of Child and Family Studies was opened in 1972. In 1989, the decision was made to change the name of the college to the "College of Human Ecology" in order to reflect the broader philosophy embodied in the changing nature of the college and of society. In 1996 Human Environment and Design was evolved to fulfill the necessity of the design area. Since 1996, College has operated five majors: Clothing and Textiles, Foods and Nutrition, Housing and Interior Design, Child and Family Studies, and Human Environment and Design. READ MORE Ēš
